Defence sites in the South of England and the build-up for D-day with many US pre-invasion camps and embarkation ports. About 116 RAF airfields, miscellaneous wartime sites 15, Defence of Britain sites 20 and France starting in the Pas de Calais with 8 Wn's & (defence positions) batteries to the Vendee - Charente Maritime and covering all Wn's on the D-Day Omaha and Utah Beaches and right up to Cherbourg. Several V1/2 sites and many other miscellaneous sites in Normandy.
During WW2 the Germans built a wall of steel & concrete. The Atlantikwall. From Norway to the Spanish border. Started in 1941 but never completed due to the D-day landings. The Wall was built to stop an invasion from England and protect Hitler’s secret weapons. The website also covers airfields in Great Britain with 132 to date 11/09/2011. Also several storage sites,D-day camps, Anti-Aircraft sites (HAA), army camps, Auxiliary Unit Hides, Radar, the British Atlantikwall and many more.
